Week of 8/1/10 - Justin Roberts Captures JITIC El Salvador Title.  ETA student, Justin Roberts, the fourth seed at the under-14 COTEEC tournament in El Salvador defeated Peter Bertran of the Dominican Republic 6-2, 0-6, 7-5 in a hard-fought final match.  For his outstanding effort, Roberts made his second (of, undoubtedly, many) appearances on the "Movers and Shakers" page of Junior Tennis.

Week of 7/4/10 - Jennifer Brady, capped off her Carribean trip winning the doubles crown with fellow American Libby Muma.  The un-seeded team defeated the No.2 seeds from Mexico, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 at the TIHTA ITF tournament in Aruba.  At the same event, the unseeded team of Roberto Cid and L. Elizondo lost in the finals to the top-seeded American team of Bernstein and Simon.

Week of 6/27/10 - Jennifer Brady, a finalist in two ITF tournaments in May, took the big prize this week capturing the Winners crown at the Junkanoo Bowl in the Bahamas.  Brady, the 8th seed, dispatched the second and third seeds on her way to a tough-fought 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 victory over 7th-seeded compatriot Nelo Phiri in the final.  Roberto Cid reached the seminfinals in the boys draw of the same event before falling to No. 1 seed, and eventual champion, Shauan Bernstein.  Adi Milstein went through the qualies and reached the quarter-finals - defeating No. 1 seed, Fausthyara Pietersz in the second round.

Week of 6/20/10 - KEYS WINS FIRST PRO TITLE:  Fifteen-year-old Madison Keys won her first professional title this week at the $10,000 Cleveland Open.  Keys, who was unseeded, defeated No. 3 seed Piia Soumalainen of Finland 6-2, 6-4 in the final.  Caitlin Whoriskey captured her second straight pro title in doubles at the same tournament.  Whoriskey teamed with Sanz Marand to defeat Syracuse teammates Eleanor Peters and Emily Harman.

Week of 6/13/10 - Lauren Davis, a wild-card entrant in the $10,000, Mount Pleasant Women's Pro Classic, defeated the No. 1 seed and the 5th seed on her way to the final of ITF Women's event.  In the final, Davis lost to No. 2 seed, Petra Rampre of Slovakia.  ETA graduate, and recent Tennessee graduate, Caitlin Whoriskey, captured her first professional doubles title at the same event. Whoriskey teamed with Kaitlyn Christian to win the crown.

Week of 5/31/10 - Anna Tatishvili won the singles title at the $25,000 ITF Women's tournament in Grado, Italy.  The 4th seeded player defeated Ana Jovanovic of Serbia in the final, 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-4.  Belinda Niu, Bradley Jung, Daniel Kang and Keith Kamono all graduated from Boca Preparatory School on May 28th.

Week of 5/24/10 - Capra and Davis shine at the Italian Open.           Beatrice Capra claimed her first Grade A ITF trophy this past week when she defeated Lauren Davis  for the title in Milan.  Capra, who was seeded 8th in the event defeated the #2 seed en route to the finals while Davis defeated the top seed to reach the trophy match.  Both girls, who are travelling with ETA coach Federico Ricci will compete in the French Open Junior Tournament next week.

Week of 5/17/10 - Jennifer Brady reached her second consecutive ITF Final at Daytona Beach.  Brady, who was unseeded lost to #2 seed, Victoria Duval in the final.  ITF Junior Rankings released today show the two top-ranked Americans as Trici Capra (16 ) and Lauren Davis (18).  Both are in the main draw of the upcoming  Italian Open Junior Tournament. 

Week of 5/10/10 - Brooke Bolender does it again!  For the second consecutive week Brooke Bolender has captured the singles title at an ITF G-4 event - this time in Plantation, Florida.  Bolender, who was seeded 2nd, defeated, unseeded,  Jennifer Brady 6-4, 6-3, in an all ETA final.  Alex Tachovsky and partner, Mara Schmidt reached the doubles final in the same event.  Boca Preparatory School students voted for new officers for the year 2010-2011.  The school Vice-President is Dawoud Kabli; Secretary is Manuela Gomez and the treasurer is Eduardo Martinez.

Week of 4/26/10 - Brooke Bolender took her first ITF singles title at the G-4 event in Naples, Florids.  Bolender, partnered with Lauren Herring, to win her 4th doubles title at the same event.  Dawoud Kahbli, along with Trinidadian Davis Cup partner, Liam Gomez captured the Boy's doubles title at the same event.

Week of 4/19/10 - Beatrice Capra reached the semifinals of the $25,000 USTA Women's Tournament in Florida.  Capra qualified for the event - winning three matches - then defeated No. 1 seed Anastasia Yakimova in the first round.  Capra, the number one American on the ITF junior rankings (15) reached 440 on the WTA rankings by virtue of her results.  Lauren Davis was a finalist at the ITF Easter Bowl Tournament in Carson, California.  Davis's 2nd place finish made her the second-ranked American girl in the ITF ranking at No. 17.  Unseeded, Jennifer Brady, finished in 3rd place at Easter Bowl, U-16's.  Brady reached the semifinals of the main draw defeating 3 seeds along the way.   

Week of 4/12/10 - Gianluca Argentini, Oliver Bellomi, James Dean, Manuela Gomez, Dawoud Kabli, Daniel Kang, Jacqui Katz, Thomas, Kohn, Eduardo Martinez, Larissa Menshikova, Spencer Newman, Neal Towlson, Leir Oren and Martina Pani - are all honored as members of the National Honors Society.

Week of 4/5/10 - Ajla Tomljanovic reached the finals of the $25,000 Pelham, AL tournament, defeating #3 seed Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa in the semis.  Tomljanovic lost in the finals to second seeded Roumanian,  Edina Gallovits.  Ajla is currently ranked 229 on the WTA Tour Rankings.

Week of 3/15/10 - Belinda Niu wins the singles title at the Panama Bowl.  Niu then partners with Gabriella DeSimone to capture the doubles at the same event. 

 

 

 

Daria Sharapova and American partner, Caroline Price win the doubles trophy at the Barbados Junior International.

 

Week of 3/8/10 - Beatrice Capra wins singles title at the Banana Bowl (ITF Grade 1, Brazil). Gabrielle DeSimone wins singles title at Costa Rica Bowl. Eduardo Martinez and Keith Kamono also capture the doubles title at the Costa Rica Bowl.

Week of 3/1/10 - Dawoud Kabli is selected for Davis Cup Team of Trinidad & Tobago.
