Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT), developed by Erik Dalton PhD
MAT is a multiple disciplinary approach to soft tissue bodywork. It views the bone and muscle relationship (myoskeletal) to assess the body as a whole. It does not chase symptoms but searches for the root of the problem (joint fixation, facet dysfunction, muscle imbalances) that torsion and compress spinal joints.
The torsion and compression leads to protective muscle spasms and dysfunctional strain patterns, such as forward head posture, slumped shoulders and scoliosis.
MAT techniques restore proper biomechanical function so the bodies spring system consisting of ligaments, tendons and muscles, are able to propel the body through normal gait function and ultimately leading to a pain free body.
